Mexican Air Force The
official predecessor of the Mexican Air Force was the Army's
Auxiliary Aerial Militia Squadron (Escuadrilla Aérea de la
Milicia Auxiliar del Ejército), created during the Mexican
Revolution on April 1913 by the Secretary of War and Navy
General Manuel Mondragón, who authorized pilots Miguel
Lebrija and Juan Guillermo Villasana to bomb targets on
Campo de Balbuena, in Mexico City....

Fabrica de Aviones Anahuac SA established 1966 to develop
agricultural aircraft suited to national requirements.
Prototype Tauro 300 first flew 3 December 1968. Improved Tauro
350 with more powerful radial engine (350 hp) followed into
production from 1977.

LOCKHEED-AZCARATE SA
Formed by Juan F. Azcarate in 1957 with Lockheed, to design an
aircraft specifically to suit Central American conditions.
Built the LASA-60 4/6-seat utility aircraft in 1959.
Construction undertaken by Lockheed-Azcarate, Macchi (q.v.)
and Aviones Lockheed-Kaiser. Lockheed acquired a substantial
holding in Aermacchi 1959.
SERVICIOS AEREAS DE AMERICA SA
In 1960s serviced and repaired aircraft and engines, but
undertook license-manufacture of higher-powered Maule M-4,
developed specially for Mexican conditions and called
Cuauhtemoc M-1.

TEZIUTLAN avion 1941
Teziutlan trainer from 1940 (the name is taked of one city named Teziutlan in Puebla Mexico), this was designed by the engineer Antonio Zea. This plane EPT-1 flying until 1947 in the 205 squadron of 3rd air group with 8 AT-6 Texan and one Kingfisher. |
WALTZ SA.
Franciso J. Waltz, Mexico City, was distributor for Aero
Commander. Produced in 1959 a high-altitude conversion of de
Havilland Heron with 340 hp Lycoming engine for Mexican use
under name Super Heron.
